Well…….
The UK were “enthusiastic”, shame the song was shit.
Turkey was very very good, Poland absolutely dreadful.
France should have won. Great song.
Again, block voting was what counts. Ex-USSR countries voting for Russia, who they supposedly couldn’t wait to get away from, was a bit of a surprise. I can’t see a reasonable way of avoiding this.
I know none of the EBU countries want to host it. But.. wouldn’t it be nice if we picked a good, well known, UK group next year?

ITV1, Saturday night at 9pm. It’s utterly fantastic. Pick a cozy spot on the sofa and enjoy!

I forgot to mention that episode 1 was the pilot and does not have the outstanding opening title sequence or outrageously good music. Nice to see ITV1 didn’t censor any of it, as much as I could tell. Well, I hope you liked it and if you are unsure, please just stick with the next couple of episodes.

ITV1 - 22:35 on Wednesday 27th February and weekly thereafter.
Don’t expect to get hooked after the first episode, it’s good but there is a lot of scene setting to do. I would be most surprised if, after episode three, you aren’t frantically searching torrent sites for all the episodes of season 1, then season 2. Large will back me up on this, excellent individual episodes, a great story arc, beautifully dark humour and possibly the best theme tune to a programme ever.
One for my Dad’s V+ box I think.

In repsonse to an email from someone who seems to suggest that I only like US TV [on that subject I heard today that ITV have bought the rights to Dexter, you lucky people] so I will list some, in my opinion, great UK TV. I’ll try and do a tiny summary, most recent first:
Life On Mars
Swiss Toni
Coupling [first three series are spectacularly funny]
Grass
Spaced
Teachers [well, first three series anyway]
Spooks [first two series]
Father Ted
… and a big gap ‘cos I am getting fed up…
Minder [before it got crap with his nephew]
Rising Damp
Likely Lads [and Whatever happened to…]
And there are hundreds more. I can understand your point but I’m trying to point the US stuff out, which you may well miss tucked away on FX or whatever.
I’d also suggest you watch the US version of Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present the fantastically named Albert Hall, the scariest and creepiest quiz show contestant ever:

Flight of the Conchords starts on BBC4 at 9.30pm on Tuesday. Fantastic comedy with brilliant music.
The series has just finished in the States, every episode is great. You can do YouTube searches on them, I’m not posting links as I suspect they’ll be removed soon, only to be reposted.
OK, here’s a YouTube link to one song If that’s what you’re in to
Remember, I am the man who told you about Dexter, the most watched satellite/cable TV show in the UK, even though it’s on FX, so my credentials are pretty much faultless.
