At what point during telling me that it was closed between J6 & 7 clock-wise did BBC travel not think about mentioning that there was a 14 mile tailback on the anti-clockwise section between 10 and 6 and that they had shut one of the Dartford Tunnels? For those of you that aren’t aware it means 16 lanes of traffic have to get into two lanes within 400 metres.
My TomTom quite enjoyed telling me that me ETA was 20:15 [fair enough, a smooth run is three hours], then 21:00, then 21:45 then 22:14, then 22:30.

It’s now 01:50, and I promised myself I wouldn’t stay up for the “stupid o’clock” ones this season but I can’t help myself. It’s particularly stupid knowing that I have a three hour drive at 6pm tonight but I love F1. Hamilton on pole but the changes in fuelling credits for the last stage in qualifying will be interesting to say the least. I expect a strong showing from the BMW’s, It’s very hard to call this race as it’s the first one of the season.
So it will be back to bed at 6am-ish. Methinks some complaining in Essex will ensue. I also now know my family now read this blog. Hello family!!
I am currently watching the “100 Greatest Stand-up Comedians” on E4+1. Truly shocking classifications. Bill Hicks must be in the top five but apparently not. I suggest you read “American Scream”, his biography. I have it in the boot of my car if you want to borrow it. Billy Connoly is number one. FFS.
